I am so truly excited to have you over to my tiny corner of the world. I am a 40 something year old living in the country with my high school sweetheart, turned husband and our miracle baby thru adoption, Norah Kay.
I found this vintage chair and knew it was the perfect chair for my art shed. However, the base fabric needed some serious love. So, I decided this was the perfect mid winter project. Re-upholstering this vintage chair was easy and thanks to Joann, I found the perfect stain resistant fabric by Crypton. Not only was the fabric the perfect shade, it also repels stains which was a must for this chair to thrive in its new home.
2. Second, I tested the fabric to make sure it would pass the stain resistant test. Norah was excited to help.
A few things I love about this fabric.
We had a lot of fun testing out the durability with this fabric. We tried a red pen, coffee and soy sauce to test the stain resistance.
The fabric literally repelled the coffee and soy sauce, making clean up easy and quick.
We used warm water and dish soap and with gentle agitation the stains were gone.
3. Confident that I had a great fabric for my art space, I fit the fabric to the seat and using a upholstery stapler went to work.
I can’t believe how well it turned out!!!! I know this will be the perfect for my art shed!!!
Thankful to Joann for making this project possible. To find Crypton fabric for your next product click here.
