I am so truly excited to have you over to my tiny corner of the world. I am a 40 something year old living in the country with my high school sweetheart, turned husband and our miracle baby thru adoption, Norah Kay.
I’ve got a roast cooking in the oven, a baby sleeping and candles going…So, I thought it was about time to post about my home Fall tour. I LOVE fall, it’s one of the more magical times of the year for me. It’s when I fell in love with my husband, it’s when I got engaged and it’s the beginning of the holiday season (my favorite time of year)!
One thing you should know about me before reading this; I’m a hopeless romantic in the truest sense. I love, love, I love the holidays and the changing of the seasons. I love slowing down enough to notice the world around me changing in the most magical of ways. Growing up, these were some of the hardest times I can remember. As an adult, it has been very important to write a different story for my family. SO, it’s with intention, that I deck the halls at every opportunity! To me, it’s the opportunity to take the hard of my life and make it more beautiful. I’m beyond excited to have you over to my house to see what fall looks like this year. Please come in and make yourself at home. My home isn’t big and it’s far from perfect, but its truly my most favorite place to be in the world.
Come on in, but first let me show you my front porch. We had so much fun gathering Mums and pumpkins… we couldn’t stop talking about what it will all be like next year when Norah’s bigger…eek!!! So exciting!
The first thing you will notice when you come in is our eat in kitchen. I had so much fun dressing up our table…
I’ve been so in love with burnt oranges this season. I love the way the oranges play with all the natural greens at our place…
I had fun mixing faux pumpkins with real pumpkins…
This sweet pillow comes from Porterlane and made our sweet kitchen so much cozier.
Of course, no fall space is complete without the yummiest of candles in the world!
Antique Candle Works truly makes the yummiest scents! I have one in almost every room, lol.
I love to use old and new objects when decorating. Old books are a must have along with old baskets. I love the history, the texture, and the warmth aged pieces give to a space.
Also, I am a textiles hoarder! I love pillows, blankets, rugs, oh my! Our floors are often filled with pillows and blankets that have to be moved to make room for the actual sitting. Porterlane Home makes the most beautiful pillow case covers. She sends me the sweetest pieces that make our space feel so inviting.
I also love to create sweet spaces in useless space. This is the top of our refrigerator. I store items like our tea kettle in the basket and then create a soft lighting with the lamp I found at Target.
Ill be honest. This space gets the least picture traffic. I struggle with the lighting, the angle and the tv. However, it usually gets dressed up the most for the seasons and holidays. I used both faux and real greenery to dress up our small mantle space. I also threw in a few brass candle sticks for good measure.
Well, that’s it for this tour. I hope you enjoyed a peek at what fall looks like at our house!
